{EDEN PHOTOGRAPHY}

Today on the Blog: Bethy - the incredibly talented owner/photographer at Eden Photography!  {Pictured below is "the lady behind the lens"...and her new husband; this year was their first Christmas as newlyweds!}

Before you get to hear from Bethy...I have to make note that Eden Photography is one of my personal favs!  I love photography...and I love to follow the work of a number of talented photographers from around the country; Eden is one of those "must-follow-photogs" AND she's local...!  Fargo-Moorhead is very lucky to have her right here in our hometowns!  Her style is unique, her photos are stunning, and she's a joy to work with.  Meet Bethy.

*A little about me...
I grew up about a mile from Rustic Oaks along the Red River on a 70 acre "hobby farm". Our farmsteads were actually built by cousins over 100 years ago! I am one of five kiddos and I was homeschooled all the way through. This allowed flexibility and time for lots of family trips. I love traveling! I always thought I wanted to be a concert violinist. Or an interior designer. And I wasn't going to get married until I was at least 27. That was until I met a guy from New Jersey and changed my mind. Brett & I got married on the farm two months ago:)
*A little about my business...
I started shooting in high school and used the farm and my sisters' modeling to build my business. My senior year I shot other senior photos and shot my first wedding that fall. Since then I've shot over 80 weddings and many many other shoots, both commercially and for fun clients around the country.
*What sets me apart from my competition...
My farm where I've never stopped shooting:) I like golden sunset light and I love that romantic and whimsical look.
*A current wedding trend that I'm loving...
Anything old, of course. And I completely love it when I see something repurposed into a functioning piece- something to use. How creative!
*My experience(s) working at Rustic Oaks...
I shot Robby & Lauren's wedding out there in June and fell in love with the place! Reminds me so much of where I grew up. I felt at home! I would pick shooting at Rustic Oaks over a formal church wedding any day!
*What I can offer Rustic Oaks brides & groom (and other special events clients)...
A creative flair with an eye for working with natural light. I'm not just with you to shoot, but to help in any way I can.. whether it's pinning on boutonnieres or tracking down the wandering flower girl:) I want you to just have fun on your wedding day!

Also, 2 months ago, I was the bride on her wedding day. I had made the decision to find the perfect photographer. I knew whose style I loved and who really "got" my plans and ideas. I trusted my photographer so much and it gave me such a peace of mind that no matter what happened on my wedding day, I'd love my photos. If my details weren't completely what I'd wanted or we forgot to hand out programs till half way through the ceremony (which happened!), I had in the back of my mind: at least my pictures will be amazing! Seriously, I can't emphasize enough the importance of a perfect fit between you and your photographer. I had the freedom to throw out any crazy idea and I knew she would build on top of it and together our ideas would form the big beautiful picture! No matter who you choose, I suggest getting to know your photographer and to bounce your ideas between each other. Collaborate together to ensure you're both on the same page and that your styles fit. You'll never ever regret your photos:) Being on "both sides" has opened my eyes to the whole planning process that goes into both ends, and it's definitely made it really fun meeting and getting to know my new brides for next season! It's given me insight to better help my clients. Now I understand when brides say "I loved my photographer" because honestly, it makes all the difference!

{Bliss Events & Weddings}

Meet Alicia - (and her beautiful family)...!

{We always love to work with Alicia and the Bliss crew!  A "Bliss wedding" at Rustic Oaks is a lovely-lovely combination!!  Brides & grooms - if you're looking for a truly full service planner/decorator/coordinator... contact Bliss!  (They do free consults!) :)  Lastly, I have to talk a little about Alicia: She is a beautiful person, inside and out - who loves her family and loves weddings!  She's an incredibly hard worker and a joy to work with; she goes above and beyond for clients - and leads the Bliss crew by example.  We look forward to many more Bliss weddings at Rustic Oaks!}

*A little about me...I was born in Grand Forks, and grew up in the Twin Cities but moved to a farm South of Moorhead when I was 12. I used to play at the Rustic Oaks property when I was a kid! Now I am married and live in South Fargo. We have two fabulous little boys named Ryder and Maddox and an Old English Bulldog named Darby. When I am not planning weddings I love to entertain at my house and travel; I also love playing outdoor sports and hunting.

*A little about my business...Bliss is a full-service wedding and event planning and decorating company. Our goal is take the stress off of our clients and make their event everything they imagined it would be. We offer a full line of rental décor ranging from vintage props and linens to the most modern décor. We are constantly educating ourselves on the latest trends in décor and event styling and are always adding new “toys” to our inventory. We love surprising our clients with new pieces!

*My typical clientele...We work with the best clients! Our clients come to us in all stages of planning and with all different personalities and styles – just like our weddings!  We like to sit down with each of our clients and get to know their needs to ensure we are a good fit them. Then we figure out what services best meet their plans and budgets. You don’t have to spend a fortune to have a beautiful and relaxing event!

*What sets me apart from my competition...Bliss is a full team of smiling, know-how-to-do-it, extraordinary people. We take time to get to know our clients and focus on their pain points so they don’t have to. We also keep our team updated on what tends are popular and how we can use them in our events.

*A current wedding trend that I'm loving...Separation of spaces! I love being able to create unique settings inside of one room – lounges, bars, dance space, dinner space – all can be separated but together - making the event more of an experience!

*My experience(s) working at Rustic Oaks...Oh how I love thee Rustic Oaks! Whether I am dangling from the barn rafters or hanging a chandelier in one of the big trees I can always expect the smiling faces of Anne, David or Emily to greet me, ask what I am doing (because generally it needs some kind of explanation!) and make me and team feel welcome. No other venue in town offers the level of personal customer service that the Rustic Oaks team provides.  It is always a pleasure to work at the venue and with the RO crew!

*What I can offer Rustic Oaks brides & grooms (and other special events clients)...An event filled with special touches! Bliss takes great pride in coming up with new concepts and ideas and then finding the best way to implement them with the beautiful landscape at Rustic Oaks.

*The best way to see more of my work/learn more about my business...Check out our website or Facebook page! Or better yet, give us a call for a free consultation and we’ll tell you everything you want to know!
